M+W Zander facility engineering awarded 130 million euros Infineon contract

M+W Zander Facility Engineering Limited (“M+W Zander”), a subsidiary of M+W Zander Holding AG, Germany, and a leading global provider of comprehensive facility engineering services for high technology manufacturing facilities and systems, today announced that it has secured a new contract of Infineon Technologies AG (“Infineon”) amounting to 130 million euros (US$170 million).

The Singapore-based company will build a production plant for Infineon in Kulim High Tech Park, Malaysia targeted for completion in spring 2006. The new Infineon facility will essentially produce power and logic chips used in automotive and industrial power applications. The new plant will complement Infineon’s existing production sites for non-memory products in Germany and Altis Semiconductors in France.

Mr Klaus Gaertner, Chief Executive Officer of M+W Zander said, “We are delighted to have been awarded this major contract, which demonstrates the confidence Infineon, a top tier chip producer, have in us as a comprehensive facility engineering services provider. It is particularly gratifying to see our growing Singapore office taking the lead in accessing our global pool of specialists required to take on such a large project.”

“Under our contract, M+W Zander’s role will comprise the provision of design, engineering, and construction services to Infineon, and will draw on the services of our highly trained Singapore staff.”

He added, “We believe that we are one of the few global companies that have strong project management expertise and technical know-how to undertake multiple large-scale turnkey projects around the world simultaneously as well as a track record of successful turnkey projects. M+W Zander has developed strong relationship with Infineon, and has completed ten projects for Infineon over the years.”
