Simpler Networks launches MEMS-based telecom distribution frame

June 7, 2005 — Simpler Networks, a Montreal-based telecommunications equipment manufacturer, announced the launch of its EZ-MDF solution and upcoming customer trials.

The system is intended to enable local service providers to deploy new services more competitively by eliminating costs and delays associated with manual jumpers at a main telecommunications distribution frame. Unlike a conventional frame, Simpler Networks’ MEMS-based frame can be reconfigured remotely.

The company said it will begin lab trials with two major local service providers and is slated to begin field trials in August.
