July 11, 2005 – Finuchem, the French robotics company, has acquired Recif, which manufactures robots for the semiconductor industry according to Les Echos.

Recif has been undergoing composition proceedings since April 29. It counts 690 employees, of whom 136 are at its main site at Aussonne near Toulouse, and 550 in Tunisia and Belarus.

Finuchem will create a new, wholly-owned subsidiary named Recif Technologies, which will acquire the assets of Recif and take over the 550 foreign employees and 70 of the employees at the Aussonne site. Finuchem is aiming for its new subsidiary to achieve a profit within 18 months.
