July 15, 2005 — Silicon Quest International (SQI) announced the development of its new materials engineering department focused on technical consulting and business development services. The new department is slated to provide materials and processing expertise for semiconductor companies, especially start-ups in the areas of MEMS, analog applications and telecommunications.
The company also announced the hiring of Zbigniew Radzimski as vice president of technology and product development to lead the effort. Radzimski was previously at S.E.H. America where as the director of the customer interface group his primary focus was on technical and sales support of U.S. customers and product development.
Also joining the SQI staff on August 1 is Fritz Kirscht. Kirscht will be assisting Radzimski as a technical advisor and consultant, while also concentrating on European business development. Kirscht was the director of materials evaluation and research at SUMCO (formerly Mitsubishi Silicon America).
