FSA adds two regional councils to fabless leaders

August 9, 2005 – The Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA) has expanded its worldwide leadership team to complement its board of directors with two new regional councils. The goal of FSA’s Asia-Pacific Leadership Council and European Leadership Council is to serve as advisors to its board of directors and provide the organization with strategic insight on both global and regional industry trends affecting the semiconductor sector. The board is comprised of executives that represent fabless, integrated device manufacturer (IDM), foundry, backend, and electronic design automation (EDA) segments of the market, while the councils are made up of leading executives and academics in the fabless industry.

Asia-Pacific members include: Nicky Lu, council chairman and chairman and president, Etron Technology; Chintay Shih, special advisor to FSA and professor and dean, College of Technology Management, National Tsing Hua U.; Wen Chi Chen, president and CEO, VIA Technologies; Zhonghan (John) Deng, chairman, CEO, and president, Vimicro; Gordon Gau, president, Holtek Semiconductor; Chou-Chye Huang, chairman, Sunplus Technology Co.; Hsiao-Ping Lin, president, Faraday Technology; K.C. Shih, vice-chairman and CEO, Global UniChip; Ming-Kai Tsai, chairman, MediaTek; Qin-Sheng Wang, chairperson, Huada Electronic Design Co.; Shaojun Wei, chairman of the board, Datang Microelectronics Technology Co.; and Woodward Yang, president and CEO, Silicon7.

European members include: David Baillie, CEO, CamSemi; John Hodgson, CEO, CSR; Svenn-Tore Larsen, CEO, Nordic Semiconductor; David Milne, CEO and managing director, Wolfson Microelectronics; Roland Pudelko, president and CEO, Dialog Semiconductor; and Anthony Sethill, CEO, Frontier Silicon.
