MEMS Industry Group Adds New Members

(August 9, 2005) Pittsburgh, Pa. &#8212 The MEMS Industry Group (MIG), a trade association representing the MEMS and microstructures industries, has added 9 new members during the second quarter of 2005 to its roster, including Boston Micromachines, Eyelit Inc., IceMos Technology, Makino, Meggitt Electronics, MicroBridge Technologies, SAES Getters, SiTime, and Tronics Microsystems. MIG membership offers members networking opportunities, industry research reports, and PR and visibility on its website.

“More and more, MIG is attracting global companies, because MEMS is a global technology,” comments Ellen McDevitt, executive director at MIG. “With more input from more companies, MIG can continue to identify and address lingering barriers to the commercialization of MEMS.”

Since its inception in January 2001, MIG membership has grown from six members to over 70 industrial members in June 2005, all of which are actively involved in the MEMS industry and in MIG initiatives.
