September 26, 2005 – Straatum Processware Ltd., a Dublin, Ireland-based supplier of real-time fault detection and classification (FDC) software for semiconductor manufacturing, has opened a global sales office in San Jose, CA. The office will be run by Stephen Westrate, a Valley veteran with more than 30 years of senior-level sales experience in process control and metrology, who was recently named SVP of global sales and business development. He commented that “this new office not only places Straatum close to the many chip manufacturing and research centers on the West Coast, but it also will be our primary contact for the industry throughout the US and in parts of Asia.” Earlier this year, the company announced that it received $5.65 million in third-round venture funding from ACT Venture Capital, Intel Capital, and Vision Capital.
