Russian IRIS project taps Cadence know-how

January 18, 2006 – Cadence Design Systems Ltd. has been chosen to provide design technologies by the Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology, as part of a new “Inspire the Russian Innovation System” (IRIS) project to support local startups in the field of microelectronics.

Prof. Y.A. Chaplygin, of the Russian Academy of Sciences, noted that using Cadence’s virtual integrated CAD service grants access to leading-edge technology and business process expertise to educate and qualify designers, and also provides access to Cadence’s global partners in the Russian market.

“Russia’s potential is high based on its young, talented, and scientifically well-educated engineering community,” added Cadence Fellow Wolf-Ekkehard Matzke. “The IRIS concept is an excellent way to foster the ecosystem required to release this potential.”
