China earmarks $4.73 million for academy

Feb. 28, 2006 – China’s Ministry of Finance set aside about $4.73 million for its National Academy of Nanometer Technology and Engineering, or NANTE, the Tianjin Economic Technological Development Area announced Monday.

The academy will be located in the Tianjin region. It will partner with universities and research institutions, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, the Military Medical Science Academy and Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics on nano projects ranging from medicine to micromachinery.
