Korea FTC raids Intel offices

February 10, 2006 – Korea’s Fair Trade Commission (FTC) conducted a dawn raid on Intel offices in South Korea, as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged illegal business dealings with four domestic PC makers.

Rival AMD filed a complaint in June alleging monopolistic practices regarding the x86 microprocessor. Similar investigations, and raids, have occurred in Japan, which ruled that Intel’s business practices with PC OEMs violated antimonopoly legislation.
