Hitachi Chemical eyes China PCB film output

April 10, 2006 – Hitachi Chemical Co. plans to begin making photosensitive dry film used in fabricating printed circuit boards in Suzhou, China, by next year, according to Japanese newswires.

The project involves a 3 billion yen (US $25 million) investment in a new production facility adjacent to the existing semiconductor sealant materials factory run by the company’s Chinese unit, Hitachi Chemical (Suzhou) Co.

Initial annual capacity is targeted at 50 million sq. m, with plans to eventually increase to 150 million sq. m/year.
