Ibis lines up 2nd implant tool

April 5, 2006 – Ibis Technology Corp. said it has completed the factory acceptance for a second i2000 oxygen implanter ordered by Sumitomo Mitsubishi Silicon Corporation (SUMCO), about six months after the initial order. Shipment of the system is expected to be complete in 2Q06.

The company will issue an invoice for approximately $3.5 million, about half the amount expected to be recognized from the sale, after installation and final customer acceptance, projected for 3Q06. SUMCO accepted its first i2000 implanter last month.

Ibis ended its 4Q05 with approximately $6.9 million in cash, and stated it will have sufficient cash on hand to support operations at current levels for the next year given income from the first SUMCO tool, and 18 months assuming the second tool is fully paid for in 2006.
