SMIC, Cadence develop 0.18-micron flow

April 13, 2006 – Cadence Design Systems Inc., San Jose, CA, and Chinese foundry Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. (SMIC) have jointly developed an analog mixed-signal (AMS) reference flow, based on SMIC’s 0.18-micron process technology.

The new block-level reference flow, based on OpenAccess 2.2, uses SMIC’s multimode RF process design kit and Cadence’s Virtuoso platform and DFM technologies.

The companies said it has been proven in silicon and package validation of a sample analog-to-digital converter design.
