Tundra buys power controller firm Potentia

April 10, 2006 – Tundra Semiconductor Corp., Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, has acquired Potentia Semiconductor Corp.’s power controller business for about $1.2 million in cash.

The deal, which does not include Potentia’s digital video display device business, adds five power controllers under Potentia’s Tsi 2xx line to Tundra’s portfolio. The business with all its employees and customers will retain the company name.

Tundra expects a one-time gain of $4.5-$5.5 million to earnings in the current fiscal quarter, as well as an undetermined amount of additional revenue, margins, and tax benefits.
