Company starts shipping nano-enabled batteries

May 1, 2006 – Advanced Battery Technologies Inc. (OTC.BB: ABAT), a developer and manufacturer of rechargeable polymer-lithium-ion (PLI) batteries, announced that it has shipped its first batch of finished new nano-lithium-ion (NLI) batteries to a U.S. customer.

The company says it has successfully developed and manufactured its new NLI batteries using lithium titanate spinel electrode nanomaterials provided by Altair Nanotechnologies Inc. It previously developed a method for incorporating the nanomaterials into its PLI battery for which Advanced Battery previously filed a patent application.
