Renesas, Nanya bury DRAM hatchet

May 17, 2006 – Renesas Technology Corp. and Nanya Technology Corp. have settled four pending lawsuits filed by Renesas claiming patent infringement by Nanya’s DRAM products, and have signed a cross-licensing agreement. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Renesas filed the initial litigation in December 2003, followed by three similar lawsuits and a motion for a preliminary injunction in Japan. Representatives from both companies stated that Renesas and Nanya are happy to resolve the two-year-old litigation, allowing them to continue to focus on technology development.
