Customers Choose Chip-making Equipment Industry’s Top 10

This is the first year that Nextest has reached the top ten, and their first time in first place. VLSI reports that they scored a 7.95, slightly lower than the 2005 winner, yet still well above the second company’s score. 2005’s winner for test was SUSS MicroTec.

Cadence Design Systems and ARC address this situation by integrating the Cadence Encounter digital IC design platform into ARC’s ARChitect processor configuration tool. “The product integration will really help designers,” said Lou Scheffer at Cadence. The companies announced that ARC joined Cadence’s OpenChoice IP program, becoming a featured intellectual property (IP) partner. The partnership program is offered by Cadence for interoperability and facilitated collaboration with IP providers.
