June 12, 2006 – Tower Semiconductor Ltd., Migdal Haemek, Israel, said it has signed a committed-sales agreement to manufacture mixed-mode ICs for an unidentified “major European fabless company,” amounting to about $10 million in sales during 2006.
The products, to be manufactured in Tower’s Fab 2 site using 0.18-micron process technologies, will be used in DECT cordless phones and wireless game controllers, markets projected to see unit shipments increase by 45% and 75% over the next few years, according to market analysts.
