Micron joins IMEC’s 32nm research program

July 12, 2006 – Micron Technology Inc. has joined IMEC’s sub32nm CMOS research platform as a core partner, and will participate in IMEC’s advanced flash memory program, joining eight other global IC manufacturers and foundries, both groups announced.

Previously, IMEC’s advanced CMOS research had focused mainly on logic with SRAM as demonstrator cell, but the addition of Micron will expand this work, according to Gilbert Declerck, president and CEO of IMEC.

Existing participants to IMEC’s sub-32nm program include Infineon, Intel, Matsushita/Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments, and TSMC.
