Air Products shuffles execs, reorgs units

August 25, 2006 – Air Products, Lehigh Valley, PA, said it is reorganizing its businesses into four units to align with the company’s strategic direction. These four business divisions — energy, process industries and equipment; merchant gases; electronics and performance materials; and healthcare — will report to John McGlade, who has been promoted from group VP of chemicals to president and COO of the company. Chairman and CEO John Jones previously held the title of president.

In other personnel changes, Robert Dixon, currently president of Air Products Asia, is being promoted to VP and GM for global merchant gases. Michael Hilton, currently VP of electronics businesses, will become VP and GM of electronics and performance materials, while John Marsland will assume global responsibilities as VP and GM of the healthcare unit. Also, Mark Bye, currently group VP of gases and equipment, will leave the company this fall to pursue other career opportunities.

“These actions are a logical next step in the plans we announced in March to become a more focused, less cyclical, and higher growth company,” stated Jones.
