iSLI’s Alba Centre campus will host the design tools. The institute, which supports post-graduate education and research in system-on-chip (SoC) and system-level technologies, plans to develop a center of excellence dedicated to electronic design in Scotland. The design environment will help to de-risk the early-stage process, eliminating the cost-barrier that faces these entrepreneurial companies, said Tony Harker, CEO of iSLI. The partnership will also allow start-ups to confer with industry members for route-to-funding or route-to-market advice and networks.
