It’s true we haven’t even celebrated Thanksgiving yet, though it seems we’ve already moved on to Christmas season planning (at least the retail industry thinks we have). In fact, all things seem to move a lot faster these days. It’s certainly true in the trade publishing industry where a year’s worth of feature subjects to be covered are usually selected sometime around the previous August.
All this requires looking ahead, and although I usually reserve this subject for the December issue, I thought this year I’d jump ahead and share with you some of the things I’m looking forward to for CleanRooms in 2007. First of all, I’m looking forward to major additional coverage of USP-797 and to addressing the challenges ahead in ensuring the safe compounding of sterile preparations. There is no hotter topic in, and surrounding, the contamination control industry, with a steadily growing need and demand for information and answers-as well as products and services. I’m extremely pleased with the recognition our publication has been receiving for taking a leadership position in advancing this education and information-sharing process. I’m looking forward to even more in-depth coverage both in the magazine and through a series of top-level Webcasts already in the works and free to all registrants.
I’m also looking forward to advancing the same kind of increased awareness and progress in the food processing and packaging industry, and in the general area of hospital hygiene-both also with a longstanding need for new, mandatory procedural standards and technology infusion.
I’m also looking forward to working even more closely with our partners at the IEST and to increasing our relationship with the ICCCS and other international standards organizations. CleanRooms recognizes the importance of the work performed by these organizations and shares the same goal of expanding knowledge and expertise in contamination control science.
Another goal I’m looking forward to next year is working even more closely with our partner publication, CleanRooms China, which is published in Mandarin Chinese regularly. In addition to it being a vehicle that brings the content of CleanRooms to this important Asian market, it affords an excellent bridge to help bring news and information about opportunities and developments in China directly to our own readers.
Of course, educational conferences and exhibitions have long been an integral part of the CleanRooms franchise. Face-to-face, real-time interaction is a critical element of effective communication and idea exchange and development. I’m hoping CleanRooms will be providing an effective forum for a growing number of participants at such events next year.
Finally, I’m looking forward to a booming year for our industry across both traditional and emerging user-industry sectors. And I’m looking forward to reporting soon on a number of significant new products and technology innovations that I know are just in the wings. Keep checking your CleanRooms magazine to read all about them.
