Silterra names new CEO

January 9, 2007 – Silterra Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. has appointed Eg Kah Yee as CEO and executive director, replacing Bruce Gray, who held the position since July 2005 after serving two years as EVP and COO.

Kah Yee was previously founder and CEO of ASIC/SoC design company Key ASIC, which signed a partnership with Silterra last spring to offer IP including ARM-based CPU platform and memory blocks for 0.18- and 0.13-micron CMOS process technologies. He is also former regional manager for Synopsys; South Asia Pacific Operations.

“We are pleased to have Eg Kah Yee on board to lead Silterra to the next phase of our growth,” said Silterra chairman Jalaluddin Jarjis, in a statement. “His experience and successful track record in the IC design and semiconductor industry will help Silterra further expand its customer base globally not just as a wafer foundry but a one-stop solutions semiconductor company.”
