Deep in the “art” of Texas
Guest artist Hank Waddell will display his sculptures at Tokyo Electron’s Austin, TX facility on Thursday April 13, in a one-month traveling exhibit provided by Quattro Gallery. A special reception will be held this Thursday, April 5 (4-7pm) for employees, customers, and special guests.

Waddell won a “People’s Choice” award at Austin City Hall for a piece called “West Texas Beachball,” and recently held a solo exhibit at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden. In a press release, he describes the inspiration for his works, which explore the relationship between nature and industry: “I begin with ‘an Original,’ a branch or stump or root of a tree that finds me in my daily course,” he said. “I have to wait for them but when Originals find me, they are already laughing, crying, and expressing something personal.”
