April 3, 2007 – Samsung Electronics plans to begin operations at its new chip assembly line in Suzhou, China, during 2Q07, according to the Korea Times.
Samsung currently operates three production lines at the site, and has six plants throughout China (two each in Suzhou and Tianjin, one in Shandong, and one in Huizhou) spanning a range of operations from semiconductors to consumer electronics and telecommunications.
Samsung is targeting $5.5 billion in sales for the Chinese semiconductor market in China, according to the report.
