AMD Invests in Semiconductor-IP Purveyor

(July 9, 2007) SANTA CLARA, CA &#151 AMD invested $7.5 million in Transmeta Corporation in exchange for Transmeta preferred stock. Transmeta develops and licenses computing, microprocessor, and semiconductor technologies and related intellectual property (IP). It is developing power management technologies that reportedly reduce current leakage and power drain in advanced components.
