Report: TI laying off 200 at Dallas site

September 11, 2007 – Texas Instruments is laying off nearly 200 workers at its KFAB 200mm manufacturing facility in Dallas, who were unable to find other jobs in the company six months after the layoffs were announced, according to the Dallas Business Journal.

Back in January, TI announced cost-reduction efforts that included stopping production at KFAB, one of its older 200mm sites, and moving production and tools into other analog sites. About 250 employees were said to be affected by the changes.

In a filing with the Texas Workforce Commission, TI says 191 employees at KFAB, unable to obtain other jobs within the company, will now be laid off, starting in November and continuing through January 2008, according to the report.
