September 17, 2007 – Wacker Chemie AG has signed a deal to extend its polysilicon supplies to Chinese PV product manufacturer Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd. for a two-year period from 2009-2011.

The two firms already have three existing polysilicon supply deals since they started partnering in 2003, and, the companies noted in a statement. This new deal will help boost Yingli’s production to >80MW of PC modules over the two-year span, and help complete the Chinese firm’s plans to complete a 200MW capacity ramp on schedule, noted Liansheng Miao, chairman/CEO of Yingli Green Energy.

For Wacker Chemie, the deal helps further strengthen and diversify its relationship with Yingli, and coincides with a previously announced strategy of reaching a total capacity of 21,500 metric tons by the end of 2010, stated Reimund Huber, the company’s director of sales and marketing.
