Launch of Joint Nanoanalysis Project at Dresden

According to Dr. Wolf-Dieter Lukas, Head of the BMBF Department, Key Technologies: Research for Innovations, the strategic setup and expansion of the microelectronics competency centers is an important goal of the BMBF IKT2020 program. “Only by setting targeted priorities in research funding will we succeed in maintaining Dresden’s leading role in high-tech chip production and in further expanding it through such innovative approaches as here in the field of nanoanalysis.”

November 8, 2007 Singapore — Systems on Silicon Manufacturing Co. Pte. Ltd. (SSMC), a manufacturer of advanced semiconductor wafers, has announced its plan to establish a Research and Development (R&D) center tasked with expanding the company’s process technology portfolio. Investing S$65 million over the next four years, the development center will broaden the scope of SSMC’s wafer engineering and manufacturing services.
