MEMSCAP transducers key for cabin pressure control in Airbus Airlifter

November 6, 2007 — Diehl Aerospace has selected MEMSCAP to supply its MEMS technology for the Airbus Military A400M Airlifter. MEMSCAP will supply its Digital Pressure Transducers — a key element of the Doors Control and Monitoring System (DCMS) developed by Diehl onboard the A400M, military transport aircraft.

Diehl Aerospace has captured a leading position as a system supplier for door control and monitoring systems and has received a contract from Airbus for the design, development and series production of the Airbus A400M DCMS (Doors Control and Monitoring System). This technology will then be extended to other aircraft programs for civil and general aviation.

MEMSCAP TP3100 001A12, MEMS Digital Pressure Transducer will be the sensor part of the Cabin Pressure Detector (CPD). It is a fully customized, fully compensated version of the TP3100, with built in self test functions based on MEMSCAP SP82 pressure sensor. It enables the control system to know the pressure difference from outside the aircraft compared to cabin pressure inside. First units have already been delivered; the program is planned to extend beyond 2015.
