November 19, 2007 – Micrel Inc. says it has signed a multimillion-dollar long-term contract to manufacture and supply solar cells to an unidentified partner, for an undisclosed amount. Production will occur at Micrel’s site in San Jose, CA.

Guy Gandenberger, Micrel’s VP of wafer fab and foundry operations, Micrel, noted in a statement that the deal will help offset current capacity, while also providing “valuable energy-saving solutions.”
