The Ficoating layering system drastically minimizes the detrimental effects of machine standstill. At the same time, regular cleaning intervals are substantially extended. Ficoating was developed especially for Fico Trim&Form Tools, accurately matching its adhesive force to the specific Trim&Form tool materials, but it can also adhere to other materials as well. Ficoating ensures an extended usable time period over the tool’s entire life cycle. Despite being originally considered for SnPb only, Ficoating offers comparable advantages with pure tin and its alloys, such as SnBi. With Ficoating, they all yield extended cleaning intervals as well as simplified cleaning procedures. This, in turn, shortens machine standstill periods. Ficoating can be used on all parts that are in friction contact with tin and its alloys (such as SnPb and SnBi). Therefore, it can also be used as surface layering for cutting tools.
