Racine Federated designs a cleanroom to protect customer manufacturing processes

January 11, 2008 — /RACINE, WI/ — Racine Federated Inc. designed a cleanroom in its manufacturing plant where air quality, temperature and humidity are highly regulated in order to protect sensitive technologies from contaminates. The air in the cleanroom is filtered to remove dust particles and other impurities that can contaminate critical manufacturing processes, especially those found in semiconductor, pharmaceutical and other industries working with high-purity fluids.

The measure of the air quality of a cleanroom is described in Federal Standard 209. Racine Federated’s cleanroom is rated Class 1000, where there may exist no more than 1000 particles in any single cubic foot of air. Within the room the company’s employees are required to wear protective, lint-free clothing that prevents particles from entering the room’s atmosphere.

Racine Federated’s 16′ X 20′ cleanroom is made of seamless plastic walls and ceilings, rounded corners and external lighting and wiring.

Racine Federated, founded in 1970, is a privately held Racine, WI based manufacturer of flow meters and internal concrete vibrators. Products are sold under the trade names Blancett(R), Dynasonics(R), Flo-tech(TM), Hedland(R), Preso(R), Racine(TM) and Wyco(R).
