February 12, 2008 — Bloo Solar, a West Sacramento, Calif., developer of nanostructured photovoltaic cells, has reached an exclusive licensing deal with the University of California, Davis.
Bloo Solar will acquire all rights to early UC Davis inventions that assist in the manufacturing of extremely thin and very small wires, films and other structures with a precise chemical makeup.
The inventions were created by Bloo Solar’s co-founders Ruxandra Vidu, Brian Argo, John Argo and UC Davis professor Pieter Stroeve. Saif Islam, another UC Davis professor, also made contributions to these inventions.
The company says its products use nanostructured photovoltaic cells to increase the total daily power output of solar panels.
