Ecliptek releases IBIS models for MEMS oscillators

February 18, 2008 — Ecliptek Corp., which supplies frequency control products, has released IBIS models for its EMO family of MEMS clock oscillators. The EMO products are based on MEMS First technology trademarked by MEMS developer SiTime.

The IBIS (I/O-buffer-information-specification) model is an industry standard used to model the output driver characteristics of a device, the company said in a news release. The model provides a presentation of transient (voltage versus time) and DC (current versus time) data for the oscillator.

“IBIS models have become an important signal integrity simulation tool for designers as they prefer the simplicity of these models for system circuit analysis,” said Thomas Culhane, Ecliptek’s vice president of engineering.
