Atomate expands product lines for CVD equipment customers

March 19, 2008 — Atomate Corporation has launched a series of products for the “do-it-yourself” customers who wish to upgrade existing CVD systems or build new systems themselves.

Atomate’s CVD components and modules products now include a number of control equipment that has previously only been available as part of a complete system. Although these stand-alone controllers are designed for CVD growth of nanotubes and nanowires, they can also be used for many other vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) processes.

The new modular controllers add any or all of the following control and monitoring capabilities to self-built or existing OEM equipment:

  • Pneumatic valve control;
  • Mass flow control;
  • Gas flow control;
  • Thermal control; and
  • Operational status and interlock monitoring.

Atomate currently offers gas manifolds, leak-proof seals, and leak detection safety kits. New component offerings for self-built and other OEM systems include such products as gas delivery modules and solid source heaters.

According to Virginia Ford, general manager, “We’ve been receiving requests for our components and modules from scientists who wish to upgrade existing tools. In many cases, it doesn’t make sense for these customers to buy an entirely new system when adding just a few of our components and modules can increase the scope of their research quickly and effectively.”
