Axsun introduces new sample interface for MEMS-based NIR analyzer

March 5, 2008 — Axsun Technologies Inc., which manufactures micro-optoelectronic spectrometers, has a new sample interface for its MEMS-based Anavo Analyzer, which the company calls “the fastest handheld NIR spectrometer on the market.”

The analyzer, based on Axsun’s MEMS-based spectrometer, is targeted at material identification applications ranging from plastics compounding and recycling, to incoming raw materials inspection to field measurements in the food and agriculture industry. The new flexible sampling interface will enable the Anavo to measure materials in a wider range of form factors and will allow noncontact measurements, providing more flexibility to the user, the company said.

Axsun is currently shipping the Anavo in volume to applications in plastics, polymer and textile identification.
