Fabless group, India chip body to co-support initiatives

Mar. 3, 2008 – The Global Semiconductor Alliance (nee Fabless Semiconductor Association) has signed a deal to form an alliance with the India Semiconductor Association, to support each other’s activities and tighten ties among their membership rosters.

After collaborating on several initiatives over the past several years, the new organizational alliance will provide ongoing support of each group’s activities and foster business relationships among member companies, both groups said in a statement. The partnership also aims to promote international events (exhibitions, conferences, and seminars), and both sides will exchange industry reports and research information, as well as assist with trade delegations among members.

“We have collaborated with ISA on several initiatives since 2005 and are pleased to officially form an organizational alliance,” stated Jodi Shelton, co-founder and executive director of the GSA.

“Our organizations will work with each other on a range of activities to demonstrate our mutual interests and value to support the semiconductor industry,” added ISA chairman S. Janakiraman.
