October 15, 2008: OrthoMEMS, Inc. has appointed Frank L. Lordeman as chief financial officer and director effective immediately.

Mr. Lordeman joins OrthoMEMS after serving as the chief operating officer of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Health System, a $4.8 billion healthcare system that is consistently ranked among the top U.S. organizations. He was responsible for the operation, growth and overall profitability of the institution from 1992 to 2005, a period of dramatic growth where net patient revenue grew from $725 million to $3.8 billion. His entrepreneurial leadership at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation focused on strategic growth through new ventures, mergers and acquisitions and affiliations with other health organizations.

“I have worked with Frank for over a decade in operating and venture roles, and he is my great mentor. He has demonstrated a unique ability to successfully perform in both large mature organizations as well as young growing companies such as OrthoMEMS. No doubt, he will contribute significantly to the growth and success of the company,” said Douglas Lee, chairman and chief executive officer of OrthoMEMS.

“The patented sensor and telemetry technologies at OrthoMEMS are poised to significantly impact spine and orthopedic patient care. I look forward to working with an extraordinary team that will advance this breakthrough technology and build a major medical technology company,” said Lordeman.
