Dalsa intros new image sensors

December 5, 2008: Dalsa Corp. announced the availability of two new High Quanta image sensors tailored for scientific, life sciences, and astronomy applications. Dalsa’s High Quanta sensors use advanced fabrication techniques and achieve incredible improvements in noise performance and quantum efficiency (QE), peaking at more than 70%. The new sensors also employ the latest designs in output amplifiers providing low noise at high data rates.

These two new High Quanta sensors with resolutions of 1044 × 1044 (IA-DJ-01044-00-R) and 524 × 524 (IA-DJ-00524-00-R) feature the same 24μm size pixel.

“Now users can enjoy the same High Quanta imaging performance in smaller and more cost effective sensor formats,” said Behnam Rashidian, product manager, Dalsa life sciences. “These new members of the High Quanta sensor family are aimed to be value leaders in their category.”

For those applications demanding ultra violet (UV) sensitivity and > 90% QE, back side thinned (BST) devices will be available on a custom basis.
