Multitest to Merge with ECT Semiconductor Test Group

(December 12, 2008) ROSENHEIM, Germany and PAMONA, CA &#151 Multitest Elektronische Systeme GmbH announced it will merge with the Everett Charles Technologies, semiconductor test group (STG). Multitest designs, manufactures,and markets final test handlers and test sockets used by integrated device manufacturers (IDMs) and final test subcontractors worldwide. Currently, STG consists of Harbor Electronics, located in Santa Clara, CA, which designs, manufactures, and assembles test interface boards for wafer probe and final test, and the final test socket design and manufacturing group in St. Paul, MN. While the original brand names will reportedly be maintained, the key objective of this merger is to leverage combined strengths.

Multitest products are developed in Rosenheim, Germany; Bangalore, India; and Penang, Malaysia; manufactured in Rosenheim and Penang and marketed via 21 offices and representatives in Europe, USA, and Asia. The combined organization will operate design centers in California; Arizona; Texas; Minnesota; Lincoln, England; Rosenheim, Germany; Manila, Philippines; and Singapore; and manufacturing operations in California, Arizona, Minnesota, and Penang. According to a statement from Multitest, the merger will allow the organization to offer integrated final test solutions including handlers, sockets ,and DUT boards to a global customer base.
