January 27, 2009: Netherlands-based lab-on-a-chip company Micronit Microfluidics BV has set up a North American office in San Jose, CA, headed by Bob Moore, who was recently appointed as director of North American sales.

The US office covers customers in both the US and Canada.

“With our facilities in the Netherlands we always served customers all over the world,” CEO Micha Mulder said in a company news release. “However, the long distance and time difference makes it sometimes hard to support our American clients to the same level as our European clients.”

New US sales chief Moore was formerly VP of business development for Silicon Border Development Corp., a technology park on the US/Mexico border (operations in Mexicali, Baja California, and in Poway, CA) that houses semiconductor, solar cell, and other high-tech operations.
