GSA awards semiconductor companies

December 13, 2011 — The Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) named its 2011 awards recipients at a celebration last week in CA. Outstanding semiconductor companies worldwide were recognized for "success, vision and strategy in the industry." Winners are listed below, and you can see all this year’s nominees here.

Several companies maintained their positions (Intel, Ambarella, etc.) from the 2010 GSA awards.

The Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award:
Dr. Henry Samueli, co-founder and chief technology officer of Broadcom Corporation. Dr. Samueli has made the kind of exceptional contributions to drive the development, innovation, growth and long-term opportunities for the semiconductor industry that honor Dr. Chang’s legacy.

Most Respected Public Semiconductor Company Achieving $500M to $10B in Annual Sales: Broadcom Corporation

Most Respected Public Semiconductor Company Achieving $10B or Greater in Annual Sales: Intel Corporation

Most Respected Emerging Public Semiconductor Company: NetLogic Microsystems, Inc.

Most Respected Private Company: Ambarella, Inc.

Best Financially Managed Company: Avago Technologies

Outstanding Revenue Growth by a Private Semiconductor Company (Companies that doubled their revenue over eight consecutive quarters ending June 2011): SandForce, Inc. and Silicon Mitus, Inc.

Start-Up to Watch: Amalfi Semiconductor

Outstanding APAC Semiconductor Company: Global Unichip Corporation

Outstanding EMEA Semiconductor Company: Dialog Semiconductor.
