MEMS foundry Tronics Microsystems claims revenue growth of 56%

04/08/2008  Tronics Microsystems, the MEMS foundry that stirred controversy last Fall when it claimed that its profitability "validates the pure-play MEMS foundry model," now says it has achieved a 56% increase in annual revenue, to 10.5 million Euros ($15.4 million), in its fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 2007. The company's net profit represents 12% of total revenue.

04/08/2008  Apr. 8, 2008 - Weakened consumer spending -- not just in the US, but now apparently a global trend -- and signs that major buyers are slashing orders have caused analyst firm iSuppli to reduce its outlook for the NAND flash sector in 2008 by a full two-thirds. The firm now projects global NAD flash memory revenues rising 9% this year to $13.9B -- instead of an anticipated 29% rise to $17.9B, essentially removing $4B from the market.

FUJIFILM Dimatix materials printer leverages MEMS for research

The DMP-2800 jetted smaller-than-nano droplets of compounds to help quantify optimal proportions and deposition conditions.
