OM Group Completes Acquisition of Electronics Businesses from Rockwood Holdings

01/02/2008  ; OM Group Inc. has reported that it has completed its previously announced acquisition of the electronics businesses from Rockwood Holdings Inc. for ~$315 million in cash, plus customary post-closing adjustments. Included in the transaction is Rockwood's French electronic chemicals business which was originally subject to a put option that has since been exercised.

November Chip Sales Up 2.3% Year-on-Year

01/02/2008  ; Worldwide sales of semiconductors rose to $23.1B in November, an increase of 2.3 percent from November 2006 when sales were $22.5B, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) reported. Sales increased by 0.7 percent from the October sales of $22.9B. Year-to-date sales of $231B are 2.8 percent ahead of the $225B in sales for the like period of 2006.
