Phillipy to Succeed Deuster as CEO of Newport Corp.

09/21/2007  Newport Corporation has named Robert J. Phillippy, to succeed Robert G. Deuster as CEO, following the announcement of Deuster's retirement, effective October 5, 2007. Currently Newport's president and chief operating officer, Phillippy will also serve on the company's Board of Directors. Kenneth F. Potashner, member of the Board since 1998, has been appointed non-executive chairman of the Board.

NanoLogix generates energy on-site with bioreactor-produced hydrogen

09/20/2007  NanoLogix Inc., a nano-biotechnology company, says it has achieved a historical event with the first onsite generation of electricity using hydrogen gas produced from its bioreactor prototype facility at Welch Foods Inc. The demo used a 5.5 kW generator converted to run on hydrogen. NanoLogix says the generator ran flawlessly on hydrogen gas produced by its hydrogen bioreactor system and powered multiple strings of 100- watt light bulbs.
