Peregrine introduces second-generation FET QUAD mixer

San Diego, California–Peregrine Semiconductor, a supplier of high-performance communications-based ICs, recently introduced PE4122, the first in a family of second-generation FET Quad mixers with integrated RF and LO balun networks.

“The PE4122 is very unique from other mixers on the market. It has an excellent Input IP3 of >30dBm at an LO drive of 17dBm, while maintaining a conversion loss of >8dB,” said Dennis Burman, marketing director of commercial products for Peregrine. “It also has typical LO-RF and LO-IF Isolation of 38dB, operating over the receive bands for PCS and 3G covering 1.8 to 2.0 GHz. We feel confident that we have designed a best-of-class mixer that offers our customers state-of-the-art performance in the smallest package available.”

Designed for wireless base station receivers for PCS and 3G, the PE4122 conforms to stringent system design standards that require high linearity downconversion mixers to achieve maximum system performance. Follow-on family members will address cellular, GSM, and DCS1800 system standards at the same high level of performance.
