July Semiconductor Sales Reach All-Time High

SAN JOSE, CA—September 5, 2000—Reflecting strength in all geographical regions, worldwide sales of semiconductors reached an all-time record high of $17.3 billion in July 2000, increasing from $11.5 billion in July 1999, a 50% year-over-year growth in chip sales, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) reported today.
