ON Semiconductor promotes William Schromm

Phoenix, Arizona–ON Semiconductor recently announced the promotion of William Schromm to vice president and general manager of the Logic business group. Schromm reports to ON Semiconductor senior vice president and chief operating officer, Jim Thorburn.

Schromm, who has more than 20 years of experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication, new product development and manufacturing, recently served as the director of ON Semiconductor’s MOS Logic business. He has also held numerous senior-level operational, engineering, and management positions at Motorola.

During his career at Motorola, Schromm managed the company’s Guadalajara fab where he improved operations within the first 6 months and introduced new thyristor technology to production.

Schromm holds a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and a master of business administration degree.
