September 16, 2003 – South Korean chip foundry Dongbu Anam Semiconductor has increased production capacity by 50% at its Sangwoo facility in North Chungcheong province, according to Asia Pulse Businesswire.
The company invested nearly $265 million in the line to raise output to 7,500 wafers/month, and plans to boost capacity to 11,000 wafers/month by the end of 2003. Mass production of 0.18-micron processes at the facility is slated for the end of September.
Donbgu Anam also plans to invest 30% to 40% of its 2003 capex to build 0.13-micron facilities, with production targeted by the end of 2003.
